Differential Pay

As a Police Officer at City of Doral you will  enjoy a competitive hourly rate plus additional incentives based on your role and shift. We reward hard work and dedication with a robust incentive pay structure.

  • Hazard Pay 

    All Sworn personnel will receive 2% on top of their base hourly rate. 

     

  • Patrol 

    Employees assigned to the regular patrol operations, receive a 2% on top of their base hourly rate.

     

  • Field Training Officer (FTO) 

    Employees assigned to FTO receive a 5% on top of their base hourly rate.

     

  • Traffic Section 

    Employees assigned to traffic receive a 5% on top of their base hourly rate.

     

  • K-9 

    Employees assigned to K-9 receive a 5% on top of their base hourly rate.

     

  • Motors 

    Employees assigned to Motors receive a 5% on top of their base hourly rate.

     

  • Mounted Unit 

    Employees assigned to Mounted Unit receive a 5% on top of their base hourly rate.

     

  • Internal Affairs 

    Employees assigned to Internal Affairs receive a 5% on top of their base hourly rate.

     

Shift Differentials 40 hour Work-Week

Our comprehensive incentive pay program allows you to maximize your income.

Choose shifts that fit your lifestyle and earn additional pay for night and weekend work.

  • Afternoon Shift 

    Employees receive a 5% differential pay for shifts commencing at 1:30 P.M. 

     

  • Night Shift 

    Employees receive a 10% for shifts commencing at 9:30 P.M. 

     

Shift Differentials 11.5 hours work-day

  • Differential Pay 10%

    All employees assigned to the patrol section, which work an 11.5 hour shift, who start work between 5:00 PM to 4:45 AM receive a 10% differential pay on top of their base hourly rate. 

    Employees assigned to this shift are not entitled to the additional pay listed under section 1 and 2, of the 40-hour work-week.

  • Acting Rank

    As an employee, you have the opportunity to step into higher-level roles and earn more. If you're designated to perform the duties of a higher rank for at least two consecutive workdays, you'll receive a 5% salary increase for the duration of your assignment.
